A Prayer for the Duke of Edinburgh

‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’ (Matthew 25.21)

God of majesty,

give rest to your servant Philip

who, having served his Queen and Country,

has passed from this life,

full of years yet strong in spirit.

As we give thanks for his life,

as Prince and husband,

as Consort to The Queen,

we pray that all that he has done

may continue to bear fruit

in the lives of individuals

and the life of this nation and the Commonwealth,

to your honour and glory,

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

St John’s in bloom

Thanks to all those fantastically creative people who made the church look so beautiful for Easter.

For those that were unable to come here are some pictures – they don’t do it justice though!

I also think our Easter Garden looks absolutely brilliant. Many thanks to those that have put this together and to our very own Paul for creating the outbuilding.
