The UN Climate Change Conference COP29 gets underway on Monday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
With climate impacts inflicting growing human and economic costs in every country, every COP is a vital global moment that must deliver major progress, and COP29 is no exception.
Ambitious outcomes in Baku are vital, because unless all countries can cut emissions and build more resilience into global supply chains, no economy – including the G20 – will survive unchecked global heating, and no household will be spared its severe inflationary impacts.

Our food bank needs YOUR help
Georgina gave our food bank an interview while dropping off our donations. its compelling watching!
They are in desperate need of supplied for the 19 families that they are supporting. I do feel a lot of us at St Johns are doing “OK” – I am sure we have our own problems, but we are not living on a can of rice pudding between 19. Please consider upping your donations of food and supplies, as well as good you can see the picture below of the toilet rolls they have left. – between 19 families.
I am really sorry if this upsets people, but I personally am shocked at all the empty shelves :(
