Who
We Are
The “Belles” is one of the women’s
fellowship groups at St. John’s,
Shirley, who currently meet on a
Thursday once a month.
The purpose of our meetings is to
extend our church life by meeting
together.
We enjoy a variety of events,
beginning with our AGM, which is
usually a Curry Night; we usually
hold a bingo/ fish and chips supper
night in March/|April, strawberries
and wine evening in the summer and
we have been known to go as far as
France!
The Belles is a thriving and lively
group with over 50 members and can
be a fantastic way of meeting some
of the other women of St. John’s, if
you are new to the church.
We usually hold a raffle on the
evenings when we meet, to raise
money for a number of good causes,
including a young boy we have
sponsored through World Vision,
as well as raising money for a
number of local charities, including
St. Christopher’s Hospice.
Subs for the year 2009/10 have
remained at £10, with half of this
going directly towards the money we
raise for charity.
If you would like to join us, be
assured of a very warm welcome, some
great laughs and if you would like
to know more please speak to me or
one of the Committee members.
If you would like to know more
please speak to me, Georgina
Roseweir (8777 2820) or one of the
other committee members who are,
Julie Turpin, Treasurer, Vanita
Elphinstone, Amanda Stretton, Sandra
Morrison, Catherine Foot and Adele
McCabe. |
