Who We Are

The Angels & Devils Fellowship Group (ADFG), was formed in October 1998 and consists of the young members who are regular worshipers at St John the Evangelist Church, Shirley Church Road Croydon Surrey or one of its affiliated churches listed in the affiliated church listing as approved by St John the Evangelist Church PCC and approved for affiliation by the affiliated churches PCC or governing body.

Aims / Objectives

  • The Aims of the ADFG is to identify with young people in their final term at primary school and to bring them together to:

  • Encourage fellowship between their peer groups.

  • Provide them with the opportunities to take part in various activities to nurture and reinforce both fellowship and team building.

  • To nurture the Christian faith

  • To encourage young people to remain linked with the church.

  • To involve its members in outreach activities into the community with children with disabilities.

  • To identify new leaders from the members of ADFG and encourage them into leadership roles.

Leadership Team

The ADFG is organised by its Leadership Team who are identified on the Leadership Listing which consists of leaders from St John the Evangelist Church with a minimum of two leaders one of each sex from any affiliated church. The Leadership Team is approved annually by St John the Evangelist Church first PCC meeting of each calendar year. The ADFG Chair person reports directly to St John the Evangelist Church PCC and other affiliated church PCC’s or governing bodies on the plans, aims and activities which the group under take.

The leadership team will comprise the following roles and responsibilities:

Youth Minister / Chair Person - Responsible for continued development of spiritual direction of the group and reports directly to the authorising PCC.

Adult Youth Leader’s - Will take part in the organising of events and be present where possible.

Affiliated Adult Youth Leader’s - Will be approved by the affiliated churches PCC or governing body and will take part in the organising of events and be present at events where young members of the affiliated church are present.

Health and Safety Officer - Responsible for all aspects of HSE during the events including assessments at the planning stage and pre visit assessments.

Children with Disabilities Leader - Responsible for providing advice and care for any members who have any form of special needs or disability or to provide advice when planning out reach to children with disabilities or disadvantaged children.

Publicity Leader - Responsible for communicating the activities of the ADFG

IT Specialist - Responsible for the ADFG Website  

Treasurer - Responsible for reporting the group’s finances        

Secretary - Responsible for the administration of the ADFG
